A "very unfortunate coincidence" when updating virus signatures and scanner software caused the ClamAV for Windows virus scanner to run amok and move large numbers of files into quarantine on Windows systems.

This caused downtime this morning for a particular Windows server hosting many of our clients. The update to the virus signatures happened automatically on the server and Wisconsin Web Host started working on the issue immediately once we were aware of the problem.

Functionality of nearly all of the accounts on that particular server has been restored, and the ClamAV virus scanner has been removed and replaced by NOD32.

Wisconsin Web Host is working diligently to resolve any remaining issues and make sure to do all we can to mitigate this sort of issue happening in the future.  We appreciate your patience and are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
